BMHS junior Madison Glisson won her 3rd straight All A state golf championship on September 7, 2024. Playing at Richmond Golf & Country Club, she shot a one-under par 71 to win by 2 strokes.
Smith Places 4th at State
Junior Amyah Smith placed 4th in the state in the Triple Jump competition in the KHSAA State Championships in Lexington in May. She also finished 8th in Long Jump.
Bohde Collects 500th Strikeout
Freshman Madison Bohde struck out her 500th career batter in the first round of the Region 1 Tourney against Marshall County in a 4-2 win on May 27.
Lady Bombers Advance to District Finals
For the first time since 2018, the Lady Bombers basketball team has advanced to the 3rd District finals and has earned a spot in the Region 1 Tournament March 4-10 at Murray State. BMHS defeated Mayfield 42-30 on 2/27, led by Nevaeh Yates with 13 points
2-time State Champion Honored
Sophomore Madison Glisson has won the All-A State Singles golf championship two years in a row. She was honored at the home basketball game on February 16, 2024.
1986 Track Team Honored
The first regional tournament championship team in school history was the 1986 girls track team. Members of the mens and womens teams of that year that produced 8 regional and 2 state champions were honored at BMHS on 2/17/24. See story in Alumni News.
BMHS junior Jace Birney was honored on February 6 for becoming the school's all-time leading scorer in the boys program. Birney is shown here with Keith Myers, whose mark of 1774 points has stood since 1982, and head coach Zach McDaniel.
2023 Lady Bombers Softball Lifted Up
The Region 1 All A Champions and KY State Final Four team - the 2023 Lady Bombers Softball Team - was honored on January 2, 2024 as we placed a banner in the rafters of the Green Palace to honor their incredible season!
All A Region Runners-up!
The BMHS Lady Bombers volleyball team went 5-1 on the day, but came up short in the championship game on September 9 and finished as the Region 1 All A Runners-up.
Birney Moves to 3rd on All-Time List
With his second basket against Livingston Central on December 22, Jace Birney scored his 1415th career point, moving him to 3rd on the mens all-time scoring list. He passed Dustin Roberts on the list who had 1414 career points.
Birney Ties Single Game Scoring Record
Behind his 26 points in the 4th quarter and overtime period against St. Mary on 12/5, Jace Birney tied the school record for points in a single game with 44. The Bombers pulled out the win 81-74.
Bombers Best Fan Recognition
As part of our celebration of Bombers Best, we honored our BMHS basketball Super Fan, Rodney Leigh, on February 13. He has been a fixture in our gymnasium for over 45 years and loves all things Bomber basketball. The teams presented him with a signed bal
Lady Bombers Open Season With A Win
The BMHS Lady Bombers basketball team opened its season, as well as the head coaching career of Barry Phillips, with a win over Cairo on November 30. Neveah Yates drives towards two of her 11 points. BMHS defeated the Lady Pilots 56-29.
Bombers Best - 1998 Golf Team
The only team to ever win a non-classed Region 1 Title, the 1998 Boys Golf Team, was honored on Feb. 10. The team beat the favorite St. Mary by a single-stroke with a 312 team score. Pictured are Kyle Yancey, Austin Trice, Frankie Cage, and Tyler Powell.

BMHS Sophomore Madison Glisson successfully defended her title and won her second straight ALL A state golf championship in Richmond on September 9.
Basketball Seniors Honored on Feb. 10
The seniors on the Lady Bombers and Bombers basketball teams and senior cheerleader were honored during the final home doubleheader on February 10.
Bombers Best Honored on December 2
Members of the 1982 BMHS boys basketball - who most consider the best ever for the school - were honored for the 40th anniversary of their First Region Runners-up finish on December 2. (See related story.)
Bombers Best - 2021 VB Team Honored
The 2021 Lady Bomber Volleyball was honored on January 6, and the banner displaying their Region 1 All A Championship and State Final Four accomplishments now hangs in the Green Palace. The team finished the season with a 32-6 record.
Bombers Best - Last 3rd District Champs
The 1992 Bombers boys basketball team was the last team to win the 3rd district championship. Members of the team returned and were honored with a reception and on-floor recognition on December 10.
